Before They’re in Your Arms

This Is Where You’re Becoming

This is where your journey as a mother begins

Not when your baby is in your arms, but here, in the waiting and the small changes happening every day. It’s easy to think this part will be remembered later, once the baby is here. But this season is the beginning of your baby’s story, too. The first chapter, shaped by the way you carried and made space for them before they arrived. Maternity sessions honor this beginning, holding its place in both your story and your baby’s.

What This Time Is Meant to Bring You

As a labor and delivery nurse, I’ve spent years supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of motherhood. That experience shapes how I approach maternity sessions. You’re guided with intention, your comfort comes first, and nothing is rushed. You don’t need to know how to pose or how to be. You’re supported in a way that allows you to feel settled and present.

What you leave with is something tangible. Images that reflect this part of your story, the beginning of your baby’s, and a moment in time you won’t have to rely on memory to hold.

What my clients felt

A closer look at your Raleigh Maternity session experience

Step one

Booking your maternity session

Your maternity session is planned with care so you do not have to manage the details yourself. We choose a time during your pregnancy that feels comfortable for your body, typically between 28 and 34 weeks, and create a relaxed plan for your session.

Step two

Choosing What to Wear

A curated client wardrobe is available for your maternity session, with dresses in sizes XS through XXL. Each piece is chosen to flatter a growing belly and photograph beautifully. I also have pieces for your partner and/or siblings to wear.

Step Three

Your Raleigh Maternity Session

Your session will be relaxed and gently guided. We can include multiple outfits for variety, and I will guide you through natural movement and interaction so your images feel authentic and connected.

Step four

Viewing Your Images

About two weeks after your session, we’ll schedule a design and ordering appointment. You can join me in the studio or I can come to your home. Together, we’ll review your images, choose favorites, and plan any artwork or albums so your collection comes to life exactly how you want it.

Step five

Artwork in Your Home

Once your images are selected, your albums and framed pieces will be ready in about 4–6 weeks. Installation is complimentary for gallery walls of three or more frames or any statement pieces. I’ll help with sizing and placement so everything looks perfect in your home.

What my clients felt

"She really captured our excitement in that special moment for us as a couple before baby arrived."

Jenna truly captures memories and moments so beautifully. She was so easy to work with and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire shoot. She also helped me plan outfits in advance, which meant so much, especially being very pregnant and unsure what to wear. We love our photos so much, I can’t recommend working with Jenna enough.

FAQ

When is the best time to schedule a maternity Session?

The ideal time for a maternity photoshoot is between 28 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. During this period, your baby bump is beautifully round and prominent, and you’ll still feel comfortable enough to pose and move around. However, every pregnancy is unique, so if you’re unsure, feel free to contact me, and we can discuss the best timing for your session.

What should I wear for my maternity session?

I recommend choosing outfits that highlight your baby bump and make you feel confident and comfortable. Flowy dresses, form-fitting gowns, or delicate fabrics like lace can all create beautiful, timeless looks. I also offer wardrobe guidance and you can read more here about what to wear for your maternity session.

What happens after my maternity session?

After your session, you’ll go through your images together and be guided in choosing what you want to keep in your home, so it doesn’t end as files on a screen, but something you can actually hold. Let me know if you’d like to include them, and I’ll guide everyone through the session to ensure beautiful, cohesive images.
