There is something so beautiful about this season of motherhood. Your body is changing, your family is growing, and you’re getting ready to meet someone who will change your world in the very best way.
But maybe you’ve seen intimate maternity portraits and thought, I love those, but I don’t know if I could ever feel comfortable doing that.
Or maybe the thought of planning outfits, getting ready, and spending hours in front of a camera feels like one more thing on an already full to-do list.
I get it. And that’s exactly why I love showing moms just how simple studio maternity photography can be.
This recent maternity session in my Raleigh studio is the perfect example. Every single piece she wore came from my client wardrobe, and she was in and out in just 30 minutes.
No complicated planning. No shopping for the perfect outfit. Just beautiful, intimate portraits celebrating this season of motherhood.

Intimate maternity photography is about celebrating your changing body in a way that feels natural, feminine, and completely personal to you.
For some moms, that might mean a beautiful dress or soft fabric that highlights their growing belly. For others, it might mean something a little more minimal.
There isn’t one right way to do it.
We’ll talk through what you’re drawn to and what feels comfortable before your session. Nothing needs to feel forced, and you are always in control of how much you want to show.
The goal isn’t to make you look like someone else. It’s to create photographs that make you see just how beautiful this season really is.

One of my favorite things about this particular session was just how effortless it felt.
Every piece you see in these photographs came straight from my client wardrobe. She didn’t have to shop for anything, bring a bag full of outfit options, or spend weeks figuring out what to wear.
We had everything we needed right here in the studio.
And the best part? She was in and out in just 30 minutes.
That’s it. Thirty minutes to create a beautiful collection of intimate maternity portraits she’ll be able to look back on long after this season has passed.
Sometimes all you need is a little time to yourself, a thoughtfully curated wardrobe, and someone to guide you through it all.
Almost every mom tells me some version of, “I’m going to be so awkward in front of the camera.”
And I promise, you don’t need to know a single pose.
I’ll guide you through everything, from where to place your hands to how to turn toward the light. Sometimes the smallest adjustments make the biggest difference.
We’ll move at a comfortable pace, and there’s no pressure to perform or know what you’re doing.
You get to simply show up and enjoy the experience. I’ll take care of the rest.

Pregnancy can be such an exciting season, but it can also be a season when you don’t always feel quite like yourself.
That’s one of the reasons I love creating space for moms to be on the other side of the camera.
For my full-service portrait experiences, professional hair and makeup can be part of making the day feel special while still keeping everything natural and true to you.
Whether we’re planning a quick, simple studio session or something more involved, I want the experience to feel comfortable and personal.
Because you deserve to be taken care of, too.

Maternity portraits are often scheduled between 28 and 34 weeks, when your belly is beautifully rounded but you’re hopefully still feeling comfortable moving around.
I recommend reaching out earlier in your pregnancy so we have time to talk through what you’re envisioning and plan the details.
And if you’re already further along? Reach out anyway. We can talk about what’s possible!
One of my favorite things about maternity photography is knowing these photographs will become even more meaningful with time.
Right now, you’re feeling those little kicks and counting down the days until you meet your baby.
Before long, you’ll be holding that tiny person in your arms.
Whether you choose to display your portraits in your home or preserve them in an album, I’ll help you think through ways to enjoy your favorite photographs beyond your phone.
Because this season deserves to be remembered, and so do you.
You don’t need the perfect outfit, hours of free time, or any idea how to pose.
This sweet Raleigh studio maternity session is proof that sometimes the simplest experiences create the most beautiful photographs.
If you’ve been thinking about intimate maternity portraits but weren’t sure if they were for you, I’d love to help you plan something that feels comfortable, easy, and completely your own.
You deserve to have photographs of this season that make you feel beautiful, too.

From a thoughtfully curated wardrobe and professional hair and makeup to beautiful heirloom artwork, my Raleigh newborn photography experience is designed to take care of all the little details.
I’d love to help you create meaningful portraits of your growing family and turn your favorite moments into artwork you’ll enjoy for years to come.
When your memories live where life happens, they become part of your family’s story, seen every day, touched often, and one day, passed down. They remind your children where they come from and show them how loved they’ve always been.
On your walls, in your hands, always surrounded by love
I believe your memories should live where life happens
