Your maternity session is about you, your growing family, your unique journey into motherhood. And what you wear should reflect that. Whether you’re a jeans-and-tee kind of girl or someone who loves bold colors and high fashion, your outfit should feel like home. Comfortable, authentic, and most importantly, you.

Wear What Feels Like You

The most impactful photos happen when you’re feeling confident and comfortable. That starts with what you’re wearing.

Are you someone who feels powerful in black leggings and a form-fitting top? Go for it. Do you love cozy oversized knits that show just a peek of your bump? Beautiful. Do you want to rock your favorite jeans unbuttoned with a cute bralette? That’s a vibe.

There are no rules, just a simple invitation: wear something that helps you feel like the best version of yourself.

But If You Do Love a Flowy Dress…

You’ll still be in good company! Flowy fabrics photograph beautifully. They add movement, softness, and a timeless feel. If you’re drawn to that look, lean into it. Think creamy neutrals, soft pastels, or even bold jewel tones. Whatever speaks to your personality and complements your skin tone.

Tip: Long dresses or skirts with a bit of stretch tend to flatter growing bumps in the most elegant way.

Not sure if you want to dress up or stay casual? Great news: you don’t have to choose just one. If we’re shooting in-studio or at home, there’s time for an outfit change. Many of my clients will start with something laid-back and then slip into something more romantic or elevated.

This gives you variety in your gallery, and it helps tell more of your story.
