If you’re looking for someone who’s passionate about capturing the most precious moments of your little one’s life, you’ve come to the right place! Consider this blog a way to meet your photographer, Jenna at JCrane Photography. Let me tell you a bit about myself, my family, and why I love doing what I do.
First things first—my husband, Matt, and I are both proud small business owners here in Raleigh. While I’m behind the camera at Crane Studio, Matt runs a boutique gym called Oak + Iron Fitness. Together, we have two amazing kids, Mickey and Andi, who are truly our whole world. They are our *why*—the reason we pour our hearts into our work and everything we do.
When we’re not working, you’ll find us spending time with our tight-knit family. Either exploring Raleigh, trying out new recipes, or finding fun, creative ways to keep Mickey and Andi active. If you subscribe to my newsletter you will find recipes and family friendly events around Raleigh. This is my way of inspiring your “family life.” Our family is everything to us, and we treasure each moment we get to spend together.
Growing up, my house was basically a maternity ward for pets. Hamsters, gerbils—you name it, they were having babies, and I was playing “mom.” I even brought home a pregnant cat so she could have her kittens right in our house. My poor parents…
It didn’t take long for me to figure out that I had a serious passion for motherhood and caring for others. So naturally, I became a nurse and spent a decade in the field doing just that. One of the highlights of my nursing career happened in the emergency department. I delivered a baby with my bare hands…on a toilet! That moment solidified my calling to be with moms and babies. I eventually found my way to labor and delivery. I spent 4 incredible years there, working with families through some of the most beautiful moments of their lives.

Around the same time that I started in L&D, I also started my side business: JCrane Photography. I’d deliver babies at night and photograph them during the day. This was my way of combining two things I loved most. Now, as a mom to Mickey and Andi, I’ve transitioned to focusing fully on photography. I focus my time on creating beautiful, timeless images that celebrate families and their little ones. It’s the perfect way for me to combine my passion for motherhood, babies, and portrait photography. While my own little ones keep me busy, I’m still passionate about helping other families capture their most precious moments. I know firsthand how special these early days are. I’m here to make sure you have beautiful keepsakes to cherish forever.
As a Raleigh newborn photographer, I’m dedicated to capturing those fleeting moments that mean the world to families. Whether you’re searching for a portrait photographer in Raleigh, North Carolina, or someone who understands the love and connection that comes with new life, I’m here to help. With my background in both nursing and photography, you can trust that your little one is in safe, experienced hands.
I can’t wait to work with you and create memories you’ll hold dear for a lifetime. I hoped you enjoyed getting to meet your photographer!

When your memories live where life happens, they become part of your family’s story, seen every day, touched often, and one day, passed down. They remind your children where they come from and show them how loved they’ve always been.
On your walls, in your hands, always surrounded by love
I believe your memories should live where life happens
