I want you to have more than pictures
I'm Jenna
I want you to have something you can see, touch, and pass down.
Printed memories that remind you how this season felt, and that one day, will tell your story to the ones who come after.

There is something especially meaningful about watching children recognize themselves in the photographs hanging on their walls.
This family’s little girl loves pointing out the people she knows in their gallery wall—the different versions of herself and her siblings, and even their dogs woven throughout the years.
These photographs are more than decoration.
They are pieces of a family story they get to see every single day.
And for me, this gallery wall holds an especially meaningful history because I have had the privilege of photographing this family for eight years.

I first met this mom eight years ago when I was her labor and delivery nurse and had the privilege of being part of welcoming her first baby into the world.
Since then, I have photographed all three of her babies as newborns, along with family sessions and mini sessions throughout the years.
There is something so special about photographing a family again and again.
With every session, there is a little more familiarity. The children know me. Their parents know what to expect. And I get to watch the tiny babies I once photographed grow into toddlers, big siblings, and their own little personalities.
That history brings a level of comfort to our time together, and it also means their photographs naturally begin to tell a much bigger story.

This spring, we photographed their family at home.
It was also the first session we had done together that included my full design and artwork experience.
Before we started, my hair and makeup artist came to their home to help Mom get ready and added a few curls for big sister.
I brought wardrobe options for Mom and the children so they didn’t have to worry about coordinating everything themselves.
Once everyone was ready, we kept the session simple.
There was cuddling, playing outside, movement, laughter, and plenty of room for the kids to be themselves.
Being at home made that feel especially natural. They were surrounded by familiar spaces, and instead of worrying about perfect poses, we could focus on the relationships between them.
The result was a collection of photographs that felt very much like their family in this season.

About two weeks after their session, I returned to their home for their design and ordering appointment.
Rather than looking only at the newest photographs, we also considered the images I had created for them throughout the years.
Together, we decided to create a gallery wall using portraits from several different seasons of their family’s story.
That is one of my favorite parts of creating artwork with families.
Your newest photographs do not have to stand alone.
They can live beside newborn portraits, photographs from years ago, and other images that still feel important to you.
In this case, the gallery wall became a way to bring eight years of memories together in one place.
And because choosing which photographs belong together can feel overwhelming, I was able to help narrow down the images and guide the overall collection so the finished wall felt cohesive while still showing so many different chapters.

For this family, their framed artwork arrived about four weeks later.
I brought everything back to their home and installed the gallery wall for them.
Seeing it finished was one of those moments that made the entire project feel complete.
The photographs were no longer files waiting to be printed or images tucked away in a gallery.
They were part of the home.
Now the children walk past them every day.
They point out themselves.
They recognize their siblings.
They notice their dogs.
And they get to see, right there on the wall, just how much their family has grown.
This is easily one of my favorite projects I have created because it brings together so much shared history in one place.

You certainly do not need eight years of photographs to create something meaningful for your home.
A gallery wall can begin with the season your family is in right now and grow with you over time.
If you are looking for a Raleigh family photographer and would love a relaxed family session paired with help creating custom artwork for your home, I would love to help you plan the experience.
When your memories live where life happens, they become part of your family’s story, seen every day, touched often, and one day, passed down. They remind your children where they come from and show them how loved they’ve always been.
On your walls, in your hands, always surrounded by love
I believe your memories should live where life happens
